After 2 minutes, Pantelija Milinković mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo de La Coruña and the Žabalj FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Deportivo de La Coruña getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Pantelija Milinković hit a great ball. Žabalj FK's Vladislav Radojčić got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vladislav Radojčić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladislav Radojčić had several of the Deportivo de La Coruña's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 16 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Božidar Višelavski as he didn't even see the shot coming. Rade Veljović, 22 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 23 played minutes Žabalj FK got a freekick which was hit by Stevan Zorić. Žabalj FK's Mihajlo Gurić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stojmen Kašiković in the 24th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo de La Coruña's zone, Nenad Đogatović stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Božidar Višelavski came out of the goal and Nenad Đogatović tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Vladislav Radojčić kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Božidar Višelavski. That made the score 2-0 in the 34 minute of play. Laza Kaličanin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mihajlo Gurić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stojmen Kašiković, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Adam Josifljević hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 49 minutes into the match, Žabalj FK's goal looked a bit too open when Laza Kaličanin came free, but Mihajlo Gurić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Laza Kaličanin to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Žabalj FK's Mihajlo Gurić got control of the ball when Stojmen Kašiković tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Žabalj FK's Stevan Zorić got a free kick in the 59th minute. When Vladislav Radojčić came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Žabalj FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladislav Radojčić couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Laza Kaličanin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo de La Coruña's supporters rose to their feet, but Laza Kaličanin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mihajlo Gurić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Deportivo de La Coruña's Božidar Višelavski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nenad Đogatović in the 76th minute of play. Božidar Višelavski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladislav Radojčić in the 84th minute of play. After some careless play in the Deportivo de La Coruña defense, Vladislav Radojčić kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Božidar Višelavski. The Deportivo de La Coruña fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Božidar Višelavski should have stopped the shot. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo de La Coruña's goalkeeper Božidar Višelavski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 88 minutes into the game, Vladislav Radojčić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Božidar Višelavski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mihajlo Gurić didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 92nd minute, which inside left pole to 4-2. After a rather tough play, Deportivo de La Coruña's Pantelija Milinković got a free kick in the 98th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Žabalj FK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Deportivo de La Coruña had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
