Momčilo Savanović stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Žarko Pjetrović's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Blagoje Tiodorović received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zdravko Nikolajević came out and tried to block the shot, but Blagoje Tiodorović slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 27th minute. Blagoje Tiodorović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zdravko Nikolajević made an important save on a dangerous shot by Relja Kolarević in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Šid getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Svetoje Batić hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Gornja Toplica's Blagoje Tiodorović slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zdravko Nikolajević. That made the score 2-1 after 42 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Žarko Pjetrović was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Blagoje Tiodorović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zdravko Nikolajević showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Relja Kolarević in the 63rd minute of the match. Miroslav Malenović's late challenge caught a Gornja Toplica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miroslav Malenović helped the player get up and apologised. In the 67th match minute, Šid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miroslav Malenović to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th match minute, Šid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Svetoje Batić to maneuver through the defense. Momčilo Savanović was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Žarko Pjetrović capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Žarko Pjetrović really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. If Vukašin Savićević had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. After a long run with the ball, Vukašin Aksentijević did a trick in the 84th minute in front of Šid's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 3-2. The tension between the Šid and the Gornja Toplica players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st minute there was a penalty for Gornja Toplica. Vukašin Aksentijević stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zdravko Nikolajević. 4-2. Momčilo Savanović was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Žarko Pjetrović capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Žarko Pjetrović really showed his touch with that goal: 4-3. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gornja Toplica fans cheered their team off the field, for while Šid had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
