The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikola Arsić in the 3rd minute of play forced Trgovište's goalkeeper Dragorad Lalović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dojčin Lakičević in the 11th minute of play forced Srednji Banat's goalkeeper Tadija Kaplanović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trgovište's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ivan Ognjanović in the 37th minute. Ivan Ognjanović's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Tadija Kaplanović - 1-2 was put on the score board in the 37th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Ignjatije Paradina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Tadija Kaplanović was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 46th minute of the match Jelisije Rajković shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dragorad Lalović showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dojčin Lakičević to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Trgovište's goal looked a bit too open when Vlade Mijin came free, but Dragorad Lalović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 53 minutes, Momčilo Medenica mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Srednji Banat and the Trgovište players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd match minute, Srednji Banat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Momčilo Medenica to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 78 minutes, Ignjatije Paradina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trgovište's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ignjatije Paradina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Koča Popov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dragorad Lalović having to interfere. When Tadija Dalović came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Trgovište fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadija Dalović couldn't finish the play.
