The supporters of Smederevo booed when Sirig OFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cvijan Miljanić didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Obrad Cvijić fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Smederevo's protests and gave Obrad Cvijić a yellow card for diving instead. Uglješa Durutović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Janko Đoković having to interfere. Antonije Luković struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Gvozden Simović didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smederevo. In the 41st minute, Ignjatije Kalać got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Antonije Luković managed to get in a good position for a shot. Smederevo's supporters rose to their feet, but Antonije Luković was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gvozden Simović breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Uglješa Durutović was the one to do the kick off. Antonije Luković who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Gvozden Simović when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Smederevo's Janko Đoković played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cvijan Miljanić in the 62nd minute of play. Uglješa Durutović took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Janko Đoković. The Smederevo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Smederevo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
