Andrija Marković took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vekoslav Janićijević. Lazarevo FK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 8 minutes, Andrija Marković mouthed his way into the referee's book. The Lazarevo FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Ignjatije Gligorijević charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ignjatije Gligorijević the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Donji Tavankut getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. The supporters of Donji Tavankut booed when Lazarevo FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jevrem Gojak didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the game, one of Lazarevo FK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Vekoslav Janićijević, was totally fooled by Donji Tavankut's Ignjatije Gligorijević, who 48 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mladen Zebić made a kick off. Vukmir Đurić struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Nikola Blagojević didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lazarevo FK. Vekoslav Janićijević showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simeon Dajević, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Simeon Dajević managed to get in a good position for a shot. Donji Tavankut's supporters rose to their feet, but Simeon Dajević was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vekoslav Janićijević breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vekoslav Janićijević showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vasilije Tomašev, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 85 minutes into the match, Lazarevo FK's Mladen Zebić sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nikola Blagojević narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Simeon Dajević had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donji Tavankut's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
