Thanks to some nice moves Dragan Smiljanić could shoot a difficult shot in the 3rd minute, which Nenad Bondžulić however easily saved by the left post. Nenad Bondžulić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nebojša Đurovski, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Nenad Bondžulić made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dragan Smiljanić in the 6th minute. Radislav Jovićević showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jugomir Masulović in the 11th minute of the match. In the 13th play minute Dragan Smiljanić came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Nenad Bondžulić. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Jugomir Masulović's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Radislav Jovićević was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. A beautiful save bye DORCOL UNITED's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half Niš were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The throw-in from Veljko Memić in the 53rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Niš's Nikola Krivokuća. Radivoje Stevanović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Radislav Jovićević tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee ignored DORCOL UNITED's protests and gave Dejan Radanović a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, DORCOL UNITED's Dejan Radanović got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 72 played minutes, Niš's Savo Glogovac shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Radislav Jovićević came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Niš reached it. Dragoslav Ivić kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Radivoje Stevanović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radislav Jovićević having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Radivoje Stevanović kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Radislav Jovićević. That made the score 1-4 in the 94 minute of play. Niš played a much better game than DORCOL UNITED and deserved their victory. The DORCOL UNITED players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
