Vlade Mališić was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 11th match minute, Preševo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cvetko Vasiljević to maneuver through the defense. Matija Ljubenović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marjan Vićentijević, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cvetko Vasiljević's late challenge caught a Dimitrovgrad's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cvetko Vasiljević helped the player get up and apologised. After some careless play in the Preševo defense, Marjan Vićentijević kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matija Ljubenović. The Preševo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matija Ljubenović should have stopped the shot. Marjan Vićentijević hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Vlade Mališić was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mirko Aksić showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 28 minute of play. Matija Ljubenović didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marjan Vićentijević went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Jevrem Gmitrović scored 2-3 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Matija Ljubenović, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Matija Ljubenović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihajlo Mirkov in the 37th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Dimitrovgrad's zone, Mirko Aksić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vlade Mališić came out of the goal and Mirko Aksić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th minute, Mirko Aksić fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Vlade Mališić, passed just outside the right post. In the 46th minute Mirko Aksić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vlade Mališić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matija Ljubenović came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Dimitrovgrad's Jevrem Gmitrović. But to his dismay, Jevrem Gmitrović quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. The Preševo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Dimitrovgrad were winning 2-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Svetomir Zlatković made a kick off. Dimitrovgrad's Vlade Mališić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mirko Aksić in the 54th minute of play. Vlade Mališić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mirko Aksić in the 58th minute of play. With his leg Matija Ljubenović managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Dimitrovgrad's Jevrem Gmitrović fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Preševo getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Dušan Brajić hit a great ball. After 71 played minutes Preševo got a freekick which was hit by Cvetko Vasiljević. With a little luck, Preševo's Matija Ljubenović got control of the ball when Jevrem Gmitrović tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Dimitrovgrad booed when Preševo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 81st minute, Cvetko Vasiljević hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Preševo's Dušan Brajić got a free kick in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marjan Vićentijević in the 85th minute of play forced Preševo's goalkeeper Matija Ljubenović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matija Ljubenović made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Mihajlo Mirkov sent off a good shot on target. Vlade Mališić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svetomir Zlatković in the 88th minute of play. Vlade Mališić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mirko Aksić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Dimitrovgrad walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
