Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Irig's Uglješa Bitić started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Srđan Strugar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Uglješa Bitić scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vlade Mališić, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Slobodan Obradović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ljubiša Vukajlović having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, Irig was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vaso Marunović to maneuver through the defense. Ljubiša Vukajlović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Slobodan Obradović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nikola Džunov hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Radislav Mirković's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vlade Mališić was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. In the 31st minute, Uglješa Bitić ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vlade Mališić was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Jevrem Gmitrović who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Ljubiša Vukajlović when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Vlade Mališić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uglješa Bitić in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ljubiša Vukajlović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jevrem Gmitrović in the 52nd minute of play. Slobodan Obradović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ljubiša Vukajlović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Irig booed when Dimitrovgrad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Slobodan Obradović didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uglješa Bitić scored 1-3 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vlade Mališić, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Uglješa Bitić's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vlade Mališić read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, one of Irig:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Dimitrovgrad a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jevrem Gmitrović, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Irig's Ljubiša Vukajlović. 2-3. Ljubiša Vukajlović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihajlo Mirkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dimitrovgrad's Slobodan Obradović got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ljubiša Vukajlović came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Dimitrovgrad's Jevrem Gmitrović. But to his dismay, Jevrem Gmitrović quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Uglješa Bitić blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vlade Mališić having to make a save. Irig's Ljubiša Vukajlović played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jevrem Gmitrović in the 93rd minute of play. Ljubiša Vukajlović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jevrem Gmitrović in the 95th minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
