The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Voja Gaković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sima Lisulović in the 3rd minute of play. Mitar Stevanović kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Topola's Mihailo Župljanin got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Topola defense, Ranko Ševarac kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dragoje Gunj. The Topola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dragoje Gunj should have stopped the shot. A hard shot 16 in the game by Ranko Ševarac from a close distance when the talented Dragoje Gunj managed to make a qualified save. Topola's players were relieved. Voja Gaković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihailo Župljanin in the 20th minute of play. After 22 played minutes ZORKA got a freekick which was hit by Joksim Ćuk. Voja Gaković took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Živadin Jočić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute Joksim Ćuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dragoje Gunj saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sima Lisulović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Topola's Dragoje Gunj played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joksim Ćuk in the 39th minute of play. Voja Gaković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihailo Župljanin in the 42nd minute of play. A hard shot by Radoje Višekruna from long distance, 44 minutes into the match, got Dragoje Gunj's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 45th minute, Živadin Jočić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Joksim Ćuk in the 53rd minute of play forced Topola's goalkeeper Dragoje Gunj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Joksim Ćuk cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Dragoje Gunj was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th minute Joksim Ćuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dragoje Gunj saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mihailo Župljanin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Voja Gaković having to make a save. Radoje Višekruna charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Radoje Višekruna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had been going on for 64 minutes, Topola's Mihailo Župljanin got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Voja Gaković. Sima Lisulović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zoran Radenković hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the match, ZORKA's Ðorđe Milosavljev sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dragoje Gunj narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Živadin Jočić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. ZORKA's Voja Gaković played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sima Lisulović in the 92nd minute of play. Dragoje Gunj made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joksim Ćuk in the 94th minute of play. Mihailo Župljanin struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Voja Gaković didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Topola. ZORKA succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Topola had controlled the match.
