Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Apatin's Murat Jokić started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Živadin Paroški fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sibin Janković having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Živadin Paroški managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bačko Gradište's supporters rose to their feet, but Živadin Paroški was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sibin Janković breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th minute, Murat Jokić left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Apatin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Thanks to some nice moves Mirko Dujaković could shoot a difficult shot in the 16th minute, which Sibin Janković however easily saved by the left post. Bačko Gradište's Milovan Šorgić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murat Jokić in the 20th minute of play. Mirko Dujakovićs short, quick shot in the 21stth minute got Sibin Janković to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Želimir Šišić came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Bačko Gradište fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Želimir Šišić couldn't finish the play. After 25 minutes, Dušan Tomašev mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Apatin and the Bačko Gradište players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th minute, Dušan Tomašev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bačko Gradište's Mirko Dujaković got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 27th minute Želimir Šišić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sibin Janković saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Siniša Nasković in the 34th minute of play forced Bačko Gradište's goalkeeper Milovan Šorgić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Bačko Gradište's goal looked a bit too open when Murat Jokić came free, but Milovan Šorgić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radoljub Karanović in the 38th minute of play forced Bačko Gradište's goalkeeper Milovan Šorgić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Živadin Paroški fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sibin Janković having to interfere. After 42 minutes of play, Apatin's Siniša Nasković made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Milovan Šorgić was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee felt a red card was in order, 46 minutes into the game, when Igor Jašić put in a rough tackle. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Želimir Šišić was the one to do the kick off. The nice shot from Siniša Nasković in the 52ndth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Milovan Šorgić had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Sibin Janković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Živadin Paroški in the 54th minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Bačko Gradište's goalkeeper Milovan Šorgić had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Siniša Nasković. Želimir Šišić recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Apatin's zone, Živadin Paroški stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sibin Janković came out of the goal and Živadin Paroški tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bačko Gradište's Milovan Šorgić proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Bačko Gradište from getting a goal against them. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Apatin eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
