But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Novko Miljković couldn't finish the play. When Godalming FC's Dobrivoje Tomanić in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dobrivoje Tomanić to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Godalming FC got a freekick which was hit by Milinko Šojić. Dobrivoje Tomanić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Verne Lilley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vincent Butcher charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Jadran Vujošević kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. 84 minutes into the game, Dobrivoje Tomanić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Verne Lilley was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 89th minute, Jadran Vujošević hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 91 played minutes Godalming FC got a freekick which was hit by Novko Miljković. Brynn Hargreaves kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Dobrivoje Tomanić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Godalming FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dobrivoje Tomanić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Verne Lilley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
