With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ector Duckett in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cadyryeith Grubb saved UWA Abergele from getting behind. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind UWA Abergele's goalkeeper Cadyryeith Grubb, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ector Duckett charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ector Duckett the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of UWA Abergele booed when UWA Aberystwyth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ector Duckett didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, UWA Abergele got a penalty, and Sayer Frost placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. Ector Duckett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to UWA Abergele getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Kynwyl Longshoreman hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Ector Duckett sped through UWA Abergele's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cadyryeith Grubb. Rhun Atkins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Corryn Harris having to make a save. Idris Illingworth might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Corryn Harris. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Idris Illingworth ran back to his position shaking his head. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rhun Atkins to make the kick off. The supporters of UWA Aberystwyth booed when UWA Abergele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sayer Frost didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Idris Illingworth fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UWA Abergele's protests and gave Idris Illingworth a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to UWA Abergele getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Idris Illingworth hit a great ball. Corryn Harris went to the wrong direction when Sayer Frost was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. If Idris Illingworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute Ector Duckett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cadyryeith Grubb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Corryn Harris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalldav Burt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute, one of UWA Aberystwyth:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for UWA Aberystwyth. The referee gave UWA Abergele a penalty, 92 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sayer Frost, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of UWA Aberystwyth's Corryn Harris. 3-2. Ector Duckett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cadyryeith Grubb having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the UWA Aberystwyth players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for UWA Abergele.
