Spectators: 6794 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1794, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alun Jackson took the kick off in the first half of the match. Myrddin Hodgkiss sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 5th minute, Myrddin Hodgkiss fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Madoc Harvey, passed just outside the right post. Rhun Jennings kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Cerdic Vandeweghe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pryderi Benton, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Tringad Aykroyd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Madoc Harvey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ely's Pryderi Benton in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Llangollen's goalie prevented a goal. 17 minutes into the match, Llangollen's goal looked a bit too open when Pryderi Benton came free, but Cerdic Vandeweghe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Llangollen fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Llangollen's Myrddin Hodgkiss looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Llangollen booed when Ely was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rhun Jennings didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Sior Fitzroy shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Madoc Harvey showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Robat Connolly kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After 27 played minutes Llangollen got a freekick which was hit by Llwyr Kavanagh. The supporters of Ely booed when Llangollen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Llwyr Kavanagh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pryderi Benton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Ely's goalkeeper Madoc Harvey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tringad Aykroyd. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ely's goalkeeper Madoc Harvey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Pryderi Benton came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ely fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pryderi Benton couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Myrddin Hodgkiss to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Myrddin Hodgkiss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Madoc Harvey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Myrddin Hodgkiss sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Myrddin Hodgkiss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Madoc Harvey having to interfere. Pryderi Benton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cerdic Vandeweghe having to interfere. Pryderi Bentons short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Cerdic Vandeweghe to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 67th minute, Llangollen's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Pryderi Benton fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sior Fitzroy hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Pryderi Benton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cerdic Vandeweghe stood somewhat misplaced when Pryderi Benton came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 72 minute. After 80 played minutes Ely got a freekick which was hit by Rhun Jennings. Myrddin Hodgkiss sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute Myrddin Hodgkiss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Madoc Harvey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 minutes, Llwyr Kavanagh mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Llangollen and the Ely players grew even worse after the yellow card. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
