In the 2nd match minute, UWA Baglan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gwyr Faber to maneuver through the defense. After 3 minutes, Llwyr Luke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UWA Baglan and the UWA Maesteg players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, UWA Baglan's Llwyr Luke got a free kick in the 4th minute. Brian Quarrier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Prys Gearan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urien Hedgepath made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sel Kenna in the 17th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brian Quarrier in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rhyd Kilkelly saved UWA Maesteg from getting behind. With a little luck, UWA Maesteg's Rhyd Kilkelly got control of the ball when Prys Gearan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brian Quarrier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Gleis Earley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 40 played minutes UWA Maesteg got a freekick which was hit by Kenyon Armstrong. If Brian Quarrier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. UWA Baglan's Brian Quarrier got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

51 minutes into the match, Prys Gearan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rhyd Kilkelly. UWA Maesteg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Prys Gearan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Brian Quarrier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rhyd Kilkelly having to interfere. Rhyd Kilkelly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prys Gearan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute Brian Quarrier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rhyd Kilkelly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gleis Earley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Brian Quarrier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rhyd Kilkelly was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. After 70 minutes of play, UWA Baglan's Prys Gearan made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rhyd Kilkelly was left in no man's land by his defense there! Urien Hedgepath came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by UWA Maesteg's Sel Kenna. But to his dismay, Sel Kenna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Sel Kenna's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Urien Hedgepath skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 79 played minutes UWA Maesteg got a freekick which was hit by Elphin Jagger. If Prys Gearan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the UWA Maesteg players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for UWA Baglan.
