Rhyd Kilkelly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gwydion Whitesmith in the 22nd minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Gerallt Cormack was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Porthcawl's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UWA Maesteg the free kick. The supporters of UWA Maesteg booed when Porthcawl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerallt Cormack didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gleis Earley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. UWA Maesteg's Sel Kenna got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Porthcawl's goal looked a bit too open when Gleis Earley came free, but Selyv Fishbourne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Huw Heanaghan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Rhyd Kilkelly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Garym Chandler fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UWA Maesteg's protests and gave Garym Chandler a yellow card for diving instead. Garym Chandler kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Rhyd Kilkelly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gwydion Whitesmith in the 43rd minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gleis Earley to make the kick off. In the 57th minute Gwydion Whitesmith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rhyd Kilkelly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, Gwydion Whitesmith cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Rhyd Kilkelly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Huw Heanaghan in the 86th minute of the match. Sel Kenna in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Selyv Fishbourne, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gleis Earley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
