The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute Teregud Essig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amhar Loane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. UWA Maesteg's Goreu Kempster proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save UWA Maesteg from getting a goal against them. Goreu Kempster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gwern Bradley in the 10th minute of play. Teregud Essig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kynlas Creagh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gwern Bradley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Goreu Kempster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Goreu Kempster made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Kynlas Creagh sent off a good shot on target. Kynlas Creagh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Goreu Kempster having to interfere. Goreu Kempster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gwern Bradley in the 37th minute of play. UWA Presteigne's Amhar Loane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Llwyd Foster in the 42nd minute of play. Llwyd Foster's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amhar Loane read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Kynlas Creagh struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Goreu Kempster didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UWA Presteigne. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Llwyd Foster made the kick off in the second half. Gwern Bradley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Goreu Kempster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in UWA Presteigne's zone, Teregud Essig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amhar Loane came out of the goal and Teregud Essig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute, Teregud Essig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amhar Loane made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teregud Essig in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Llwyd Foster in the 72nd minute of play forced UWA Presteigne's goalkeeper Amhar Loane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
