Pasgen Daly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Llwyd Foster in the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Teregud Essig suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Tringad Frisby's late challenge caught a UWA Maesteg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tringad Frisby helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of Neath:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of UWA Maesteg:s goal. The referee gave UWA Maesteg a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tudur Bruce, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Neath's Pasgen Daly. 0-2. Pasgen Daly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Llwyd Foster, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Neath's zone, Llwyd Foster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pasgen Daly came out of the goal and Llwyd Foster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Neath getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Maelgwn Burrows hit a great ball. The supporters of Neath booed when UWA Maesteg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taffy Gilboy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Neath's Tringad Frisby shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 24th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Goreu Kempster but with some difficulty. Pasgen Daly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Llwyd Foster, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Goreu Kempster was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Calder Cain capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Calder Cain really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. The supporters of Neath booed when UWA Maesteg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amynedd Keating didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The wind increased when Calder Cain made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Neath's Olwydd Keegan got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 56th minute Llwyd Foster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pasgen Daly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Goreu Kempster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rhett Ammons, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rhett Ammons in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Goreu Kempster prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Goreu Kempster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rhett Ammons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute Llwyd Foster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pasgen Daly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, UWA Maesteg's Llwyd Foster sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pasgen Daly narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Calder Cain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Goreu Kempster having to interfere. Llwyd Foster scored 2-3 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pasgen Daly, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 88 minutes, Maelgwn Burrows managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Neath's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maelgwn Burrows was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 89 minutes into the game, Neath's Calder Cain nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Goreu Kempster made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 94th match minute, Neath was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trefor Dutton to maneuver through the defense. Llwyd Foster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
