The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Neath booed when Knighton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amerawdwr Eaton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute of the match March Berwick shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vaughn Malender showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Duach Harden might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Meical Haycock. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Duach Harden ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kynwyl Yeoman in the 14th minute of play forced Knighton's goalkeeper Vaughn Malender to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Meical Haycock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ffowc Hind in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Gwyn Keep was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Neath's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knighton the free kick. After 18 played minutes Neath got a freekick which was hit by Gwyn Keep. Vaughn Malender took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kynwyl Yeoman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Ffowc Hind's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Meical Haycock was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Bleddyn Hacker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Vaughn Malender tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Siam Hind hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Meical Haycock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ffowc Hind, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bleddyn Hacker in the 37th minute of play forced Knighton's goalkeeper Vaughn Malender to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Neath defense, Duach Harden kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Meical Haycock. The Neath fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Meical Haycock should have stopped the shot. Vaughn Malender made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bleddyn Hacker in the 44th minute of play. Meical Haycock came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Knighton's Ffowc Hind. But to his dismay, Ffowc Hind quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ffowc Hind made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Knighton booed when Neath was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bleddyn Hacker didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kynwyl Yeoman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Knighton's Price Kilkenny got a free kick in the 59th minute. If Bleddyn Hacker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bleddyn Hacker in the 72nd minute of play forced Knighton's goalkeeper Vaughn Malender to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Knighton's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Bleddyn Hacker 74 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. After 79 played minutes, Knighton's Gwevyl Clements shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Meical Haycock came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Knighton reached it. Meical Haycock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ffowc Hind, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the match, Knighton's goalkeeper Vaughn Malender had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kynwyl Yeoman. Kynwyl Yeoman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Vaughn Malender made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Kynwyl Yeoman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vaughn Malender. That made the score 2-2 in the 91 minute of play. The Neath players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Knighton from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
