A collision led to Knighton getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Rhyd Crosby hit a great ball. After 8 minutes, Idris Doran mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Knighton and the UWA Maesteg players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th match minute, Knighton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Idris Doran to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the game, UWA Maesteg's Drych Christian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vaughn Malender made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Weyland Doyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, Idris Doran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the match, Knighton's goal looked a bit too open when Drych Christian came free, but Vaughn Malender reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Weyland Doyle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, UWA Maesteg's Drych Christian sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vaughn Malender narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Weyland Doyle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vaughn Malender was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. In the 71st minute Ffowc Hind shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amren Waterman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in UWA Maesteg's zone, Duach Harden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amren Waterman came out of the goal and Duach Harden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 94 minutes into the game, Gwevyl Clements was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Knighton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UWA Maesteg the free kick. UWA Maesteg's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
