Ceithin Coburn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 7 minutes, Bedyw Covell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UWA Bridgend's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bedyw Covell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ceithin Coburn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cadellin Bourns in the 9th minute of play. Bellieus Derrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Huw Cantwell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of UWA Bridgend booed when Cardiff Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Price Canada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Llwybyr Bradford succeeded in the game's 14th minute to get real power on a long shot . Cardiff Utd's Ceithin Coburn hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 1-0! After a defensive mix-up in UWA Bridgend's zone, Huw Cantwell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bellieus Derrick came out of the goal and Huw Cantwell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cadellin Bourns to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, one of UWA Bridgend:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for UWA Bridgend. Moesen Hugh placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 63rd minute, Cadellin Bourns got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
