Rhyl's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Irvin Clerk in the 6th minute. Rhyl's Irvin Clerk was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ceithin Coburn in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rhyl's attack was well implemented in the 9th minute, but when Rheged Wainwright was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Braen Keaty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ceithin Coburn having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Rhyl's goal looked a bit too open when Huw Cantwell came free, but Trevelyan Hanley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Huw Cantwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Trevelyan Hanley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Braen Keaty was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rhyl's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cardiff Utd the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rhyl's Braen Keaty got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute, Huw Cantwell fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Cardiff Utd's Ceithin Coburn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rheged Wainwright in the 28th minute of play. Huw Cantwell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Berth Fischer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ceithin Coburn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braen Keaty, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Huw Cantwell to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rheged Wainwright in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ceithin Coburn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Braen Keaty could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Ceithin Coburn made a huge save. Cardiff Utd's Ceithin Coburn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Cardiff Utd from getting a goal against them. After 59 minutes, Irvin Clerk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rhyl and the Cardiff Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th minute, Irvin Clerk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60th minute, Taliesin French got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Taliesin French sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilbert Ackroyd took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ceithin Coburn. Cardiff Utd's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rheged Wainwright in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ceithin Coburn saved Cardiff Utd from getting behind. Rheged Wainwright sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rheged Wainwright recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Braen Keaty got free with Ceithin Coburn in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Taliesin French received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Trevelyan Hanley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Rhyl getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Ieuan Freeman hit a great ball. Taliesin French fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trevelyan Hanley having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Braen Keaty got free with Ceithin Coburn in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Rhyl players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
