Wren Haugh took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gandwy Atkin. Gandwy Atkin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 11 minutes into the game, one of UWA Bridgend:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Penarth Utd a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ren Cain, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of UWA Bridgend's Lavaine Budge. 1-1. Owein Hampton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lavaine Budge having to make a save. Andreas Latham charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andreas Latham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Penarth Utd booed when UWA Bridgend was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andreas Latham didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amhar Gill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Gandwy Atkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Penarth Utd's Pasgen Chase got a free kick in the 27th minute. UWA Bridgend's Lavaine Budge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trent Donovan in the 32nd minute of play. Lavaine Budge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Owein Hampton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Amhar Gill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daned Fane hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute Amhar Gill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gandwy Atkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Penarth Utd's Gandwy Atkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amhar Gill in the 44th minute of play. Amhar Gill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Gandwy Atkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Trent Donovan to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andreas Latham in the 51st minute of play forced Penarth Utd's goalkeeper Gandwy Atkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. UWA Bridgend's Lavaine Budge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Owein Hampton in the 52nd minute of play. Owein Hampton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lavaine Budge having to interfere. When Wren Haugh came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the UWA Bridgend fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wren Haugh couldn't finish the play. Gandwy Atkin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amhar Gill in the 63rd minute of the match. After having played for 64 minutes, Trent Donovan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Penarth Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trent Donovan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gandwy Atkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wren Haugh in the 69th minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Trent Donovan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lavaine Budge, 1-2. Gandwy Atkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amhar Gill in the 82nd minute of play. Wren Haugh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute Amhar Gill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gandwy Atkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Amhar Gill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Penarth Utd defense, Amhar Gill kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gandwy Atkin. The Penarth Utd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gandwy Atkin should have stopped the shot. UWA Bridgend were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
