Odgar Hehir hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Llwyr Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Madoc Kenna in the 12th minute of the match. Llwyr Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pelles Herrington in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Madoc Kenna in the 23rd minute of play forced UWA Port Talbot's goalkeeper Llwyr Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Newtown's Calcas Jack got control of the ball when Llwybyr Hamm tried to sneak it across the goal line. UWA Port Talbot's Gowerr Greer couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 30th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Newtown. Newtown's Iago Fischer got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 35th minute, Pelles Herrington got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pelles Herrington struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Llwyr Day didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newtown. Llwyr Day didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pelles Herrington went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 44 minutes into the match, UWA Port Talbot's goal looked a bit too open when Pelles Herrington came free, but Llwyr Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edern Bragg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calcas Jack having to interfere. The UWA Port Talbot players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Newtown were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Madoc Kenna was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Madoc Kenna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Llwyr Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Pelles Herrington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute, Edern Bragg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Calcas Jack was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Pelles Herrington's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 72ndth minute, Llwyr Day skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Pelles Herrington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Llwyr Day having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Madoc Kenna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Llwyr Day. UWA Port Talbot's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Madoc Kenna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. After 80 played minutes UWA Port Talbot got a freekick which was hit by Mil Farrelly. 82 minutes into the match, UWA Port Talbot's goalkeeper Llwyr Day had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pelles Herrington. When Llwybyr Hamm came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the UWA Port Talbot fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Llwybyr Hamm couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ermid Augustin during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Newtown's Ermid Augustin got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 92nd minute of the match UWA Port Talbot got a corner. Newtown's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gowerr Greer ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, UWA Port Talbot's Odgar Hehir got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Madoc Kenna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
