A hard shot 3 in the game by Wren Howe from a close distance when the talented Cadeyrn Hamm managed to make a qualified save. Newtown's players were relieved. Newlin Booth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 6th match minute, Newtown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caradoc Chadwick to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Newtown's Erbin Duff got a free kick in the 25th minute. The goalkeeper, Cadeyrn Hamm, was totally fooled by Porth's Merlin Adrain, who 27 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 30 minutes, Howell Dunlop mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newtown and the Porth players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Howell Dunlop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Porth's zone, Griflet Bradbury stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sior Brooks came out of the goal and Griflet Bradbury tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Griflet Bradbury came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Newtown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Griflet Bradbury couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Porth's zone, Griflet Bradbury stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sior Brooks came out of the goal and Griflet Bradbury tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Griflet Bradbury was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Seith Foley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes into the match, Porth's Wren Howe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cadeyrn Hamm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Griflet Bradbury in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sior Brooks saved Porth from getting behind. If Griflet Bradbury had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wren Howe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute Newlin Booth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cadeyrn Hamm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Newlin Booth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cadeyrn Hamm having to interfere. After 74 minutes of play, Newtown's Ceri Guthrie made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sior Brooks was left in no man's land by his defense there! Newlin Booth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cadeyrn Hamm having to interfere. The long shot by Teilo Ivers in the 82nd minute really tested Sior Brooks's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Griflet Bradbury was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. Newtown's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Ceri Guthrie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newtown's supporters rose to their feet, but Ceri Guthrie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sior Brooks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Porth getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Morgan Findley hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Griflet Bradbury in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sior Brooks saved Porth from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Griflet Bradbury in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sior Brooks prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Newtown eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
