Ceri Guthrie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iona Bagwell having to interfere. Iona Bagwell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Griflet Bradbury, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute, Caledvwich Cribban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Merlin Hand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Caledvwich Cribban fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Llanberis's protests and gave Caledvwich Cribban a yellow card for diving instead. Caledvwich Cribban hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Iona Bagwell made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Ceri Guthrie sent off a good shot on target. Merlin Hand struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Cadeyrn Hamm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Llanberis. When Merlin Hand came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Llanberis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Merlin Hand couldn't finish the play. 47 minutes into the match, Teilo Ivers sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Iona Bagwell threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Teilo Ivers this time. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Merlin Hand made a kick off. Cadeyrn Hamm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bleddyn Faherty in the 51st minute. Griflet Bradbury fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iona Bagwell having to interfere. Ceri Guthrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerwin Graves's late challenge caught a Newtown's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
