The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Amhar Flood's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Seith Hatch read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. After 8 played minutes Wrexham Utd got a freekick which was hit by Gwythyr Hawk. 8 minutes into the match, Llangollen's Dywel Bellew broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Amhar Flood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Wrexham Utd getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Sulien Ginger hit a great ball. If Sulien Ginger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Llangollen's goal looked a bit too open when Sulien Ginger came free, but Seith Hatch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Amhar Flood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 played minutes Wrexham Utd got a freekick which was hit by Syvwlch Deacon. Llwyd Quarrier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Llangollen's Seith Hatch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amhar Flood in the 30th minute of play. Seith Hatch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sulien Ginger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Llangollen! In the 37th minute there was a penalty for Wrexham Utd. Syvwlch Deacon stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Seith Hatch. 0-1. Seith Hatch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amhar Flood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Seith Hatch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sulien Ginger, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Llwyd Quarrier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Amhar Flood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Llangollen booed when Wrexham Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greidyawl Convery didn't get a good kick on the ball. Siam Wainwright's late challenge caught a Wrexham Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Siam Wainwright helped the player get up and apologised. After 63 minutes Llangollen's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Wrexham Utd's Syvwlch Deacon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Seith Hatch in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 64 minutes into the game, Caledvwich Epps was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Llangollen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wrexham Utd the free kick. A collision led to Llangollen getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Caledvwich Epps hit a great ball. In the 65th minute Sulien Ginger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seith Hatch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Sulien Ginger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wrexham Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Sulien Ginger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Seith Hatch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 72 minutes, Caledvwich Epps managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Llangollen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caledvwich Epps was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sulien Ginger in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Seith Hatch prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 78 minutes into the match, Wrexham Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Caledvwich Epps came free, but Avagdu Head reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Llwyd Quarrier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Avagdu Head came out of the goal and Llwyd Quarrier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Wrexham Utd eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
