The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Newtown defense, Llwyd Quarrier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cadeyrn Hamm. The Newtown fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cadeyrn Hamm should have stopped the shot. After 6 minutes, Siam Wainwright mouthed his way into the referee's book. Llangollen's Seith Hatch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Griflet Bradbury in the 14th minute of play. After having played for 25 minutes, Seith Foley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newtown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Seith Foley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Siam Wainwright hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Seith Hatch was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Caradoc Chadwick. Cadeyrn Hamm came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Llangollen's Caledvwich Epps. But to his dismay, Caledvwich Epps quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ceri Guthrie during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 36 played minutes Newtown got a freekick which was hit by Ceri Guthrie. Caledvwich Epps fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cadeyrn Hamm having to interfere. Ceri Guthrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Llwyd Quarrier to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caledvwich Epps got free with Cadeyrn Hamm in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 55th minute Griflet Bradbury shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seith Hatch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Newtown's goalkeeper Cadeyrn Hamm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caledvwich Epps. Llwyd Quarrier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Cadeyrn Hamm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Llangollen's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
