They were losing 0-1.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. One of UWA Skewen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Maesteg FC:s goal. Tor Haymonger shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Powell Cain stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iau Browne's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iau Browne in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Powell Cain prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gwitart Ingram sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gwitart Ingram received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Powell Cain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 73 minutes, Iolo Conyers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UWA Skewen and the Maesteg FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iau Browne in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Powell Cain saved UWA Skewen from getting behind. 81 minutes into the game, Trent Cox was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UWA Skewen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maesteg FC the free kick. When the match had been going on for 82 minutes, Maesteg FC's Tor Haymonger got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Powell Cain. If Sior Goderich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 101st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maesteg FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
