In the 20th match minute, Ely FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gwyddno Lane to maneuver through the defense. Cadwaladr Jones stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Glew Edward's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. If Eudav Cottrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Irvin Leslie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Dinadan Kemble tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Irvin Leslie to make the kick off. Amren Breen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 1-0 became the score in the 65th minute when Irvin Leslie elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Padrig Essig fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ely FC's protests and gave Padrig Essig a yellow card for diving instead. Irvin Leslie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinadan Kemble having to interfere. Glew Edward sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
