Huw Darke was left in no man's land by his defense there! UWA Penarth's Celyn Edelston proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save UWA Penarth from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Baglan FC booed when UWA Penarth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emrys Caulker didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Baglan FC's Garwyli Fry nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celyn Edelston made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Sion Griffith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Huw Darke having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Idris Emery stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tarrant Wheelwright stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Huw Darke. 1-2. If Sion Griffith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Baglan FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching UWA Penarth's performance.
