Gwawl Potter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Presteigne Utd. After a rather tough play, Presteigne Utd's Madawg Bethel got a free kick in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Rhyl's Kevyn Henry sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gwern House narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Govan Bergin didn't quite understand what happened when in the 42 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Rhyl's Gwawl Potter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glew Colston in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kevyn Henry to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Madawg Bethel in the 67th minute of play forced Rhyl's goalkeeper Gwawl Potter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Weyland Kimball hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Selyf Canning managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rhyl's supporters rose to their feet, but Selyf Canning was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gwern House breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th match minute, Rhyl was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berth Linkletter to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Presteigne Utd could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rhyl throughout the match.
