Colwyn Garland was extremely unlucky when he, in the 17th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 25 minutes into the match, Cardiff Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Olwydd Baldwin came free, but Jones Little reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dyvyr Coad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caerleon FC's Waljan Cohen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Colwyn Garland in the 37th minute of play. When Gerallt Lea fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cardiff Utd's protests and gave Gerallt Lea a yellow card for diving instead. Maelgwn Keary fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jones Little having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olwydd Baldwin in the 44th minute of play forced Cardiff Utd's goalkeeper Jones Little to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jones Little came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Caerleon FC's Olwydd Baldwin. But to his dismay, Olwydd Baldwin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olwydd Baldwin to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, one of Caerleon FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Colwyn Garland scored 2-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waljan Cohen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 65 minutes, Myrddin Linkletter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cardiff Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Myrddin Linkletter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Myrddin Linkletter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dyvyr Coad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 76 played minutes Caerleon FC got a freekick which was hit by Maelgwn Keary. Dyvyr Coad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jones Little having to interfere. If Myrddin Linkletter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Waljan Cohen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Colwyn Garland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Colwyn Garland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jones Little made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dyvyr Coad in the 99th minute. Caerleon FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
