The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Cardigan:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Knighton:s goal. The goalkeeper, Garwyli Felt, was totally fooled by Knighton's Adwr Lacey, who 43 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Peissawg Lovat made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peissawg Lovat in the 51st minute of play forced Knighton's goalkeeper Parry Hawley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Knighton's Ceithin Huckaby got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Peissawg Lovat kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Parry Hawley. That made the score 1-1 in the 62 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gwyddawg Booth in the 70th minute of play forced Cardigan's goalkeeper Garwyli Felt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Knighton's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
