Ofydd Austin's late challenge caught a UWA Cardigan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ofydd Austin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of UWA Cardigan booed when UWA Bridgend was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ofydd Austin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd match minute, UWA Cardigan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amynedd Shrieve to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in UWA Cardigan's zone, Gwevyl Kearney stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ol Bellew came out of the goal and Gwevyl Kearney tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th match minute, UWA Cardigan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Modred Cameron to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Ofydd Austin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ol Bellew was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Kent Hutton made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Llwydeu Bellew sent off a good shot on target. Llwydeu Bellew was extremely unlucky when he, in the 35th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ofydd Austin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Ol Bellew tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. UWA Bridgend's Kent Hutton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amerawdwr Case in the 45th minute of play. UWA Cardigan's Howell Hooley pulled a muscle in his leg after 45 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Barri Kilkelly during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 46th minute, Barri Kilkelly hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gwevyl Kearney was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, UWA Cardigan's Ol Bellew got control of the ball when Ofydd Austin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ol Bellew didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 52nd minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. In the 55th minute Gwevyl Kearney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ol Bellew saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gwevyl Kearney kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Gwevyl Kearney's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ol Bellew was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. 83 minutes into the match, Gwevyl Kearney dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ol Bellew, 0-4. After some careless play in the UWA Cardigan defense, Barri Kilkelly kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ol Bellew. The UWA Cardigan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ol Bellew should have stopped the shot. UWA Bridgend played a much better game than UWA Cardigan and deserved their victory. The UWA Cardigan players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
