After some careless play in the Bridgend FC defense, Amynedd Keller kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arawn Lea. The Bridgend FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arawn Lea should have stopped the shot. 15 minutes into the match, Bridgend FC's goal looked a bit too open when Drystan Francis came free, but Arawn Lea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cerdic Farrelly charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cerdic Farrelly the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 18 played minutes UWA Caerleon got a freekick which was hit by Cerdic Farrelly. Lludd Brinkman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Powell Cox having to interfere. A collision led to UWA Caerleon getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Deiniol Crosby hit a great ball. When Lludd Brinkman came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Bridgend FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lludd Brinkman couldn't finish the play. The supporters of UWA Caerleon booed when Bridgend FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carnedyr Fairchild didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Amynedd Keller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in UWA Caerleon's zone, Beven Hugh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Powell Cox came out of the goal and Beven Hugh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amynedd Keller's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arawn Lea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Powell Cox stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lludd Brinkman's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Lludd Brinkman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lludd Brinkman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ithel High received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Powell Cox tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ithel High came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Bridgend FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ithel High couldn't finish the play. Cerdic Farrelly was shown his second yellow card after 64 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 64th match minute, UWA Caerleon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cerdic Farrelly to maneuver through the defense. Ffowc Donnelly kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Drystan Francis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Arawn Lea made a huge save. A very good chance. UWA Caerleon were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Bridgend FC's much stronger midfield.
