Ffowc Donnelly shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After having played for 12 minutes, Tringad Durling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UWA Newtown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tringad Durling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sayer Loane might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arawn Lea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sayer Loane ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 16th minute there was a penalty for UWA Newtown. Arianwyn Flaherty stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Arawn Lea. 0-1. In the 19th minute, Tringad Durling got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maelwys Burgonmaster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lludd Brinkman in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Bridgend FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Culhwch Arthur hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the match, UWA Newtown's Tringad Durling sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arawn Lea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Lludd Brinkman came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Bridgend FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lludd Brinkman couldn't finish the play. In the 36th minute, Sayer Loane made a precise shot to the right of Arawn Lea. Bridgend FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. A collision led to Bridgend FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Carnedyr Fairchild hit a great ball. Tringad Durling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arawn Lea having to interfere. Lludd Brinkman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Maelwys Burgonmaster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Ithel High had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 63rd minute Sayer Loane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arawn Lea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Bridgend FC's Lludd Brinkman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maelwys Burgonmaster made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Bridgend FC's Arawn Lea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sayer Loane in the 69th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tringad Durling got free with Arawn Lea in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sayer Loane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arawn Lea having to interfere. After 80 minutes of play, UWA Newtown's Tringad Durling made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arawn Lea was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Galahad Inge got free with Arawn Lea in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 87 minutes into the game, Culhwch Arthur was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bridgend FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UWA Newtown the free kick. A collision led to Bridgend FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Culhwch Arthur hit a great ball. Ithel High sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. UWA Newtown's Maelwys Burgonmaster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lludd Brinkman in the 97th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. UWA Newtown walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
