If Gusg Creagh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amynedd Keller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Drystan Francis got free with Iddawg Glidden in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Iddawg Glidden stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amynedd Keller's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. With his leg Iddawg Glidden managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when UWA Caerleon's Drystan Francis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Nynnyaw Eddington managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aberystwyth's supporters rose to their feet, but Nynnyaw Eddington was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Powell Cox breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sayer Hooker was the one to do the kick off. Deiniol Crosby kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Amynedd Keller struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Iddawg Glidden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UWA Caerleon. Drystan Francis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iddawg Glidden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amynedd Keller in the 68th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Amynedd Keller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iddawg Glidden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gusg Creagh hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Gwyneira Burt, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Powell Cox was a little too slow when Sayer Hooker got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 0-1. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Aberystwyth had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
