In the 15th minute, Weyland Forsyth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Aberystwyth FC's goalkeeper Yale Brinkman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Evan Hockley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of UWA Caerleon booed when Aberystwyth FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lug Luther didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evrei Cunningham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erbin Keely, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Aberystwyth FC's Yale Brinkman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rhodri Finlay in the 68th minute of play. In the 89th minute Rhodri Finlay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yale Brinkman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evan Hockley during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
