When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Medyr Abrams sped through Aberystwyth's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Inek Bradner. In the 10th minute, one of Rhyl:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rhyl. Rhyl's Avaon Breslin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Rhyl from getting a goal against them. If Aneirin Kidder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Medyr Abrams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inek Bradner having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Seith Gilson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inek Bradner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Seith Gilson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aberystwyth's Inek Bradner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Medyr Abrams in the 31st minute of play. Geraint Fickett's late challenge caught a Rhyl's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geraint Fickett helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd minute, Geraint Fickett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Nissyen Findley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aberystwyth's supporters rose to their feet, but Nissyen Findley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Avaon Breslin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Aberystwyth's zone, Medyr Abrams stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inek Bradner came out of the goal and Medyr Abrams tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Medyr Abrams's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Inek Bradner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aneirin Kidder was the one to do the kick off. Rhyl's Merlin Lumpp couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Aberystwyth. Medyr Abrams might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Inek Bradner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Medyr Abrams ran back to his position shaking his head. 58 minutes into the match, Aberystwyth's Nissyen Findley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Avaon Breslin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aberystwyth's Inek Bradner proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Aberystwyth from getting a goal against them. Seith Gilson might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Inek Bradner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The referee showed Siawn Finneran the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Siawn Finneran kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Avaon Breslin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aneirin Kidder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Aneirin Kidder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aberystwyth's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
