Myrddin Lovats short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Anfri Lattimore to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tristan Hyslop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cynbal Brody in the 7th minute of play. Tristan Hyslop showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wmffre Deanly in the 19th minute of the match. When Rhys Hill came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Aberystwyth FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rhys Hill couldn't finish the play. After 22 played minutes UWA Penarth got a freekick which was hit by Gruddyeu Garnett. After 24 played minutes Aberystwyth FC got a freekick which was hit by Cynbal Brody. After having played for 28 minutes, Sel Gay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UWA Penarth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sel Gay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wmffre Deanly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Tristan Hyslop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Sel Gay came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the UWA Penarth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sel Gay couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wmffre Deanly was the one to do the kick off. Anfri Lattimore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sel Gay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. UWA Penarth's Sel Gay got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 60 minutes, Urien Farr mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UWA Penarth and the Aberystwyth FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Aberystwyth FC booed when UWA Penarth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urien Farr didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wmffre Deanly in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tristan Hyslop prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wmffre Deanly's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tristan Hyslop read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. If Sel Gay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sel Gay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anfri Lattimore having to interfere. Aberystwyth FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
