Kai Burchett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Howell Flannelly in the 18th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Howell Flannelly in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kai Burchett saved Penarth from getting behind. The supporters of Penarth booed when Swansea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bowen Billing didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gwalhaved Gately had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gwalhaved Gately fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berth Campbell having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Swansea FC's Kenn Godwin got a free kick in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Howell Flannelly to make the kick off. Kenn Godwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rhys Davies struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Berth Campbell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Penarth. Swansea FC's Kenn Godwin got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Swansea FC's Kenn Godwin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kai Burchett narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
