Seating: 1779, VIP seats: 0) Iolo Bailey made the kick off and thus started the match. After a rather tough play, Penarth's Morgan Bowes got a free kick in the 7th minute. Gwalhaved Gately sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the match, Penarth's Rhys Davies sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rhuvawn Lederer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rhuvawn Lederer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwalhaved Gately, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Maesteg's Iolo Bailey nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kai Burchett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The Maesteg fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Maesteg's Mil Gwinn looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gwalhaved Gately took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rhuvawn Lederer. Rhuvawn Lederer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Mil Gwinn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kai Burchett having to interfere. After having played for 33 minutes, Gwydion Keefe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maesteg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gwydion Keefe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iolo Bailey in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kai Burchett prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rhys Davies sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iolo Bailey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kai Burchett read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Galahad Farran was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maesteg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Penarth the free kick. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Maesteg! Maesteg:s Rhuvawn Lederer showed great skill when he stopped Dywel Arnold:s penalty. If Gwalhaved Gately had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gwalhaved Gately to strike the kick off in the second half. Rhys Davies fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rhuvawn Lederer having to interfere. When Tremayne Denton fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penarth's protests and gave Tremayne Denton a yellow card for diving instead. Gwalhaved Gately scored 2-2 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rhuvawn Lederer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rhuvawn Lederer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gwalhaved Gately, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rhuvawn Lederer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rhys Davies, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Mil Gwinns short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Kai Burchett to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Penarth booed when Maesteg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Llyn Joel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gwalhaved Gately recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gwalhaved Gately fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rhuvawn Lederer having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Rhys Davies left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Penarth fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. After 93 played minutes Maesteg got a freekick which was hit by Llyn Joel. After 96 minutes, Griffith Cox mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maesteg and the Penarth players grew even worse after the yellow card. Griffith Cox hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Penarth were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Maesteg for a fine match.
