In the 31st minute Griffin Bannon suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. 31 minutes into the game, Pellyn Bradshaw was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UWA Bridgend's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Puddlemere United the free kick. Puddlemere United made a substitution. Awstin Dowdall replaced Griffin Bannon. After 32 played minutes UWA Bridgend got a freekick which was hit by Pellyn Bradshaw. 35 minutes into the match, Puddlemere United's Padrig Potter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Caradawg Gilboy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Selyv Hayhurst charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Selyv Hayhurst the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of UWA Bridgend booed when Puddlemere United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Selyv Hayhurst didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Awstin Dowdall managed to get in a good position for a shot. Puddlemere United's supporters rose to their feet, but Awstin Dowdall was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caradawg Gilboy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The UWA Bridgend fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Caradawg Gilboy should have stopped the shot. Puddlemere United's Rhodri Hanley got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Padrig Potter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caradawg Gilboy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Padrig Potter in the 86th minute. After a defensive mix-up in UWA Bridgend's zone, Selyv Hayhurst stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caradawg Gilboy came out of the goal and Selyv Hayhurst tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Padrig Potter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caradawg Gilboy having to interfere. 96 minutes into the game, one of UWA Bridgend:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The UWA Bridgend fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Puddlemere United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
