When Selyf Haylow was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 65 minutes had been played. After 66 played minutes Chepstow got a freekick which was hit by Selyf Haylow. After a defensive mix-up in Newport Carpenters FC's zone, Yale Hodgkiss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bwlch Keelan came out of the goal and Yale Hodgkiss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yale Hodgkiss sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bwlch Keelan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yale Hodgkiss in the 90th minute of play. The supporters of Newport Carpenters FC booed when Chepstow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dilwyn Denman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Pawl Epperson hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal.
