Pelles Carson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cairn Hassett having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Tringad Hay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the game, UWA Prestatyn's Selyf Fitzgerald nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cairn Hassett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, UWA Prestatyn's goal looked a bit too open when Baddon Glazier came free, but Gamon Cottle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, UWA Prestatyn's Timotheus Budge got a free kick in the 17th minute. Baddon Glazier struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Gamon Cottle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bridgend FC. Cairn Hassett didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Selyf Fitzgerald went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Selyf Fitzgerald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Cairn Hassett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Selyf Fitzgerald got in the 30th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Cairn Hassett handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 32nd minute Selyf Fitzgerald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cairn Hassett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Selyf Fitzgerald made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Bridgend FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garnock Collier to maneuver through the defense. UWA Prestatyn's Selyf Fitzgerald got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. UWA Prestatyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Pelles Carson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cairn Hassett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bridgend FC's Cairn Hassett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heulyn Drover in the 82nd minute of play. Selyf Fitzgeralds short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Cairn Hassett to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Bridgend FC's zone, Pelles Carson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cairn Hassett came out of the goal and Pelles Carson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Selyf Fitzgeralds short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Cairn Hassett to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Pelles Carson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Bridgend FC's zone, Pelles Carson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cairn Hassett came out of the goal and Pelles Carson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Selyf Fitzgerald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pelles Carson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cairn Hassett having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Selyf Fitzgerald got free with Cairn Hassett in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
