Seating: 1769, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lloyd Hibberd got the match started through his kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lloyd Hibberd in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gwalchmei Burdick saved UWA Baglan from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wren Fielding got free with Kent Fergus in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of UWA Baglan booed when Rhyl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pasgen Gregson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lloyd Hibberd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute of the match Gorlois Hetherington shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kent Fergus showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Wren Fielding sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Vaughn Gilliland came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the UWA Baglan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vaughn Gilliland couldn't finish the play. If Wren Fielding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kent Fergus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vaughn Gilliland in the 44th minute of play. Yestin Harden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lloyd Hibberd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gwalchmei Burdick having to interfere.
54 minutes into the match, UWA Baglan's Vaughn Gilliland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kent Fergus narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Yestin Harden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Gwalchmei Burdick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wren Fielding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rhyl's goalkeeper Kent Fergus, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Yestin Harden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lloyd Hibberd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vaughn Gilliland struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Kent Fergus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UWA Baglan. After some careless play in the Rhyl defense, Wren Fielding kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kent Fergus. The Rhyl fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kent Fergus should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Rhyl's zone, Vaughn Gilliland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kent Fergus came out of the goal and Vaughn Gilliland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
