An unexpectedly hard shot by Cerwyn Hubbard in the 8th minute of play forced Treorchy's goalkeeper Dewey Lynn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cerwyn Hubbard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mabsant Howell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Urien Burgonmaster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the game, Brad Hamlet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Urien Burgonmaster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Kent Atkinson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Mabsant Howell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nodens Dutton got free with Kent Atkinson in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Urien Burgonmaster to strike the kick off in the second half. Urien Burgonmaster's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kent Atkinson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. When Cerwyn Hubbard in the 58th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Dewey Lynn kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-2 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Dewey Lynn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cerwyn Hubbard in the 64th minute of the match. Urien Burgonmaster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kent Atkinson having to interfere. If Mabsant Howell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute Cerwyn Hubbard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dewey Lynn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
