The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tudur England might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romney Flannery. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tudur England ran back to his position shaking his head. 15 minutes into the match, Knighton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ithel Atkins came free, but Romney Flannery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Gwitart Goodson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pryderi Currier was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Calcas Dell hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Gwitart Goodson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pryderi Currier was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Tudur England sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute, Cadman Jones hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 39 minutes, Ithel Atkins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UWA Carmarthen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ithel Atkins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pryderi Currier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caradawg Flower, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, Knighton FC's Gwitart Goodson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pryderi Currier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After the first half Knighton FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ithel Atkins made a kick off. Romney Flannery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ithel Atkins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tudur England sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, UWA Carmarthen's Melkin Gilduff got a free kick in the 56th minute. When Gwitart Goodson came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Knighton FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gwitart Goodson couldn't finish the play. In the 63rd minute, Gwitart Goodson fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 66th minute, Ithel Atkins made a precise shot to the right of Romney Flannery. Knighton FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caradawg Flower in the 70th minute of play forced UWA Carmarthen's goalkeeper Pryderi Currier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caradawg Flower sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caradawg Flower received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Pryderi Currier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. UWA Carmarthen's Pryderi Currier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save UWA Carmarthen from getting a goal against them. In the 90th minute Caradawg Flower shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pryderi Currier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tudur England recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute, Gwitart Goodson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pryderi Currier was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Knighton FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
