Mabsant Howell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Mercher Jamison made a huge save. Gwalchmei Covell's late challenge caught a Wrexham FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gwalchmei Covell helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Knighton getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Gwalchmei Covell hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Cerwyn Hubbard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mercher Jamison was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Gwalchmei Covell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Kent Atkinson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mercher Jamison came out of the goal and Cerwyn Hubbard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute, Cerwyn Hubbard made a precise shot to the right of Mercher Jamison. Knighton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Knighton's Mercher Jamison proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Knighton from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cerwyn Hubbard to make the kick off. The supporters of Knighton booed when Wrexham FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brad Hamlet didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Wrexham FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gwalchmei Covell came free, but Kent Atkinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mercher Jamison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cerwyn Hubbard in the 64th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Knighton fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 73rd minute. Penalty! After 77 minutes, Mabsant Howell made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Knighton's Mercher Jamison tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 88 minutes into the match, Wrexham FC's Cerwyn Hubbard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mercher Jamison narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Cerwyn Hubbard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kent Atkinson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gwalchmei Covell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cerwyn Hubbard's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mercher Jamison read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
