In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rhonnda FC's goalkeeper Gawain Fowler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Deiniol Loane could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Gawain Fowler made a huge save. 15 minutes into the match, Rhonnda FC's goal looked a bit too open when Garselid Kavanagh came free, but Gawain Fowler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, UWA Maesteg's Garselid Kavanagh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gawain Fowler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tor Denny struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Gwern Conant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rhonnda FC. Rhonnda FC's Gawain Fowler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deiniol Loane in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute, UWA Maesteg's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Pwyll Grooms fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Deiniol Loane managed to get in a good position for a shot. UWA Maesteg's supporters rose to their feet, but Deiniol Loane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gawain Fowler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Siawn Gillett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee ignored UWA Maesteg's protests and gave Teilo Coneely a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st match minute, UWA Maesteg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teilo Coneely to maneuver through the defense. Deiniol Loane's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gawain Fowler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Rhonnda FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for UWA Maesteg.
